Maquoketa Art Experience
Rotating exhibits, events and adult art workshops.

Old City Hall Art Gallery
Internationally acclaimed oil painter and Maquoketa native Rose Frantzen and her husband Charles Morris purchased the town’s former city hall in 1991 and converted the three story 1901 building into an amazing gallery and studio space.

Ohnward Fine Arts Center
This modern performing arts venue is home to the Kopel Theatre and the Drew Art Gallery & Gift Shoppe. Ohnward offers year round musical and theatrical performances in addition to local art exhibitions.

The Hurstville Interpretive Center
Experience nature at this 70-acre complex that includes a wetland, reconstructed prairie, walking trails, nature center, fishing pond and natural playscape.

Maquoketa Caves State Park
The Maquoketa Caves area has been a popular spot for hundreds of years and is hailed as one of Iowa’s most unique state parks. Hiking enthusiasts can enjoy 6 miles of scenic trains with access to the caves.

Jackson County Conservation
Maquoketa’s Jackson County Conservation hosts a series of educational events throughout the year. If you’re traveling with children, be sure to check their calendar of events.

Vintage home decor populates the quaint gift shop. A small grocery store carries organic and gluten-free items as well as local anabiotic-free meats. A seasonal bistro with outdoor seating is the perfect lunch stop.

Peddler’s Market

Iowa Grape Vines Winery
A small family-owned winery located across from Banowetz Antiques, Iowa Grape Vines produce everything from dry to sweet wines and their own 100% grape juice. Stop-in and ask for a tasting of their 4 Finger Lakes International Wine Competition winners.

Tycoga Vineyard & Winery
This family-owned winery opened in 2014 and offers over 20 different types of wine from dry to sweet. Tasting room is open Wednesday through Sunday.

Bluff Lake Catfish Farm
Located in a beautiful Iowa River Valley between two lakes and the Maquoketa River, Bluff Lake is rich in family history and boasts the best all-you-can-eat catfish in the area.

61 Drive-In Maquoketa
This seasonal drive-in theater is a blast from the past and a local favorite.

Clinton Engine Museum
Come experience an interactive museum that helps tell the story of a world leader in manufacturing small gasoline engines.
