The pub was first introduced to Maquoketa after World War II when prior owner Jack Decker Wherry came back from the navy. The room was run as a key club with prospective visitors required to pay $1.00 membership fee to join the Maquoketa Sports Car Club. The key club became very popular with Clinton Engines executives and other businessmen of the time.
Almost 45 years later, Trevin’s will open at the Decker Hotel. Still located on the lower level of the hotel, the casual lounge is inviting place where locals and guests can enjoy a rotating selection of draft beers on tap, refreshing cocktails and weekly specials. Patrons can also enjoy the full menu that’s offered, in Trevin’s pub.
